Ganeshwar Prasad, made in

Madras, State capital of Tamil Nadu, India. Born and brought up in the locality of Mambalam...West Mambalam to be precise.
Historically, Mambalam is known for its elite, apart from the elite of Mylapore, during the pre- and post-

independence days.

Later, it served as a launch pad for development of Ashok Nagar, K.K. Nagar and the surrounding areas, which now
overshadow the Old (West) Mambalam.
For the uninitiated, Mambalam is divided into the East and the West by the railway line passing through. East

Mambalam, is better known as Thyagaraya Nagar, most frequently referred to as T. Nagar. Here is a map of Madras (since renamed as Chennai). You can find West Mambalam on the left side when you scroll down half way down the screen. The black line running through the map is the suburban railway line.

I remember as a kid, when I learnt to read the routes on the buses in the T.Nagar terminus, asked my dad, where is
Thyagaraya Nagar!!!

The western side of the railway line is the Old Mambalam or simply West Mambalam, as in the postal codes. Noted for the Sankara Mutt, Shiva Temple and the Kodhanda Ramaswamy Temple. This was the hub of West Mambalam, until in the
past 10-15 years with the development of Aryagowder Road as the business center.

Currently, I am living in Puerto Rico. The images in the albums below are a few of the natural beauties found in

I was fortunate to come in touch with Scott A. Johnson, who was kind enough to design a banner for my site, as seen above. A talented photographer and a great guy. You can visit Scott's webpage to find interesting stories, tips, great Bug Images and several other links.

My good friend and a great photographer Bill Raco has a site here and his main photo website here. Very talented photographer whose favorite subjects include barns, covered bridges, Amish things. I
have been bothering him for a while now to write a coffee table book on his favorite Infrared photograhy. He says he will do it some day!!

Another good friend of mine, the Dutch Pirate, Erik Lam is a versatile photographer, who excels in several projects, ranging from child photography to products advertisements including website building. You can see samples of his work here. Feel free to contact him for a photoshoot for any of your needs.

One of my favorite professional photographers, who is a good friend, critic and an artist of exceptional talent, Gerard Prins lives in Chile. His work ranges from studio still life to people, nature, construction, landscape and everything in between. A showcase of his work is here. Well, he uses a Nikon, but here I will take heart in the saying "It is the photographer and not the camera that produces works of art." ;-)

My friend, Norman, a talented nature photographer, has a website here. He shoots excellent macros of insects among other creatures. Recently, he is branching out into wedding photography.
